How to read the service fee

The number you type is the amount intended for the phone account. Northline adds a service fee on top. The full formula, the one-dollar floor, and the worked examples are only on the Fees page, because that page calls the same function the server uses.

Why the total is not calculated in the browser

A page can be edited by the person using it. When card payments are open, the charge uses the total stored with the order. If a client sends a different total, the server ignores it. That is why a screenshot of a total is not enough. The order record is the source.

What a promo can change

A valid promo reduces the fee, not the credit. The fee after the promo still cannot fall below one dollar. If a code is expired or unknown, the server rejects it instead of guessing.

Compare the all-in total with the provider's own payment page before you decide. A lower fee is not useful if the credit never posts. Our refund rule is that a captured payment is refunded when the credit is not posted.

Questions

Does the fee come out of the airtime?

No. The credit is the amount you enter. The fee is extra.

Where is the formula?

On the Fees page, generated from the server pricing function.
